What this test is

This blood test measures antibodies to candida. Candida is a yeast that normally lives in everyone's gut. It is sometimes used to check for 'candida overgrowth.' This is offered as a cause of tiredness, bloating, or brain fog. Having some candida antibodies is normal, even in healthy people. So a positive result does not prove candida is making you sick. Researchers tested this idea directly in a careful trial. Long-term antifungal medicine did not work better than a placebo. That was true for the symptoms this diagnosis is meant to explain. Your symptoms are real and deserve a proper look. This test is just not the right way to find the cause. There are other, well-proven causes worth checking first.
